Derek MacFarlane has been a Zionsville resident since the age of 5. Derek graduated cum laude from Butler University a semester early with a double major in finance and risk management and was the only student in his graduating class to receive highest departmental honors in both majors.
Since graduating from Butler University, Derek has been working as a financial advisor in another local LPL office for the past three years. Derek has a true passion for wealth management and loves serving and helping his clients identify their goals so he can design financial plans with their dreams in mind. He enjoys getting to know people, their unique circumstances and their desires behind their objectives for the future. He has had exposure to the financial industry since a young age through helping his father with his career as a totally blind keynote inspirational speaker.
Derek is blessed to be the Finance Chair and an Endowment Committee board member at Zionsville United Methodist Church. He is also honored to give back to his alma mater by serving on the Butler University Young Alumni Board. He belongs to three business organizations, Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Kappa Psi and Financial Management Association National Honors Society.
Outside of the office, he likes spending time with family and friends, playing pickleball, learning golf, being out in nature, attending concerts and learning about history. He loves traveling and experiencing countries and their cultures firsthand.
